Canada is a beautiful country.

In the past month, I have been travelling quite a bit, on the road and even though there are stretches of Ontario that I have already seen before, I find that ... one forgets how beautiful this country of ours truly is.

You take it for granted, you know, and then you see this tree, or this lake or how clear the sky is and it just takes your breath away. You pause, and it is like, why are you rushing? You'll get there, just breath and take this moment and hold it and reacquaint yourself with the beauty of this land.

Anyway just wanted to share that.

But I at least have it.

My dad is bored and we are trying to stop my mom from killing him.

I am going to be ordering some books for him to read (Barack Obama - la audacia de la esperanza "audacity of hope" and the Lord of the Rings trilogy in Spanish) to keep him busy.

My dad already has all the Harry Potter books in Spanish, and he's read all the HP books three or four times. He's a geek and likes sci-fi. He is a fanboy.

Proof, this weekend when he came down to see me, he asked if I have been watching Heroes and I said I haven't really been keeping up with it but I did get the dvd. Oh, he's see it already, no I told him, I have the new one.

Well...my dad is now the proud owner of my Heroes Season 1 and 2 dvd collection, because borrowing Season 2 would not make any sense unless he gets to see Season 1 again. Yes, again.

So, yeah geek.

I'm looking for book recs, something interesting.

My brother and his family live in the States and yesterday my two nephews age five and six voted in their school election.

They told their mom they voted for Obama. My sister-in-law asked them how did they know it was Obama and what did they know about the election? Their respond, the election was between the old guy and the skinny guy. They voted for the skinny guy.

Not white and black, but old and skinny.

My nephew though was sad to learn that because he is Canadian he cannot one day grow up to be President of the US.

For me the two most hated words in the English dictionary happen to be "You People".

I hate the dismissive quality of it, the undertone that 'you' as an individual are not good enough to belong or be accepted. I also hate the disdain behind the words. You is equate to it ... I could go on at how much I really dislike the term so imagine my shock when McCain called Obama 'That one'.

My nephew called me up at 8:30 this morning to talk about SW and toys. We also talked about school and what he did yesterday and no he no longer draws, he has no time but now he has tattoos you know the washable kind. I then talked to my brother for a bit and then my other nephew who had to talk to me about Ben 10 because he has gotten a Ben 10 toy, not like the one I gave him but another one that can fly and has been adopted into Ben 10 and do I have the dvd?
